The Director has the representation of the Department and presides over the Board and Council.
The Department Director:

• implements the resolutions of the Council and with the collaboration of the Council promotes the activities of the Department;
• supervises compliance with the laws, Statute and regulations;
• maintains relations with other departments of the University, academic bodies and all other entities at the territorial and academic levels that promote and/or coordinate teaching, research and technology transfer.

For the three-year period 2021-2024, the Director of the Department is Prof. Antonello Pietrangelo, the Deputy director is Prof. Luigi Chiarini.
