The Professional Teaching Tutor is a midwifery professional with advanced skills, both in pedagogy and in the specific professional field. He/she collaborates with the Director of Professional Teaching in the planning, organization and management of the Course, particularly the internship experiences; he/she is also responsible for planning and conducting the activities of the Midwifery Laboratory.

More specifically, the Tutor's activities are:

  • organization and management of the internship experiences in the assigned locations: in order to enable the Student to achieve, in a harmonious way to the Theoretical Teachings, the Practical and Internship Training Standards required by national and international regulations for Midwives.
  • planning, organizing and conducting laboratory activities/simulation exercises for small groups of students with teaching methods that emphasize the active involvement of the learner (Problem based learning)
  • information regarding thesis writing;
  • care of the student's transcript with regard to the professionalizing educational activities planned for the three-year period;
  • care of one's own training especially in order not to lose clinical skills and to keep practical knowledge up-to-date, through a training program also in the field.
